Born in 1963 in Menoufia, Ahmed Ragab Sakr is a professor and head of the graphics department and former dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts, Minia University. He received a scholarship to Germany (1995–1997) to complete his PHD In book art at the university of erfurt, where he studied lithography extensively. He is a member of the syndicate of visual artists and many art associations in Egypt and abroad, and a founding member of the european artists association in Germany. Sakr has participated in 82 group exhibitions in Europe, the Arab World, Japan, and China, and held 51 solo exhibitions. He has received 25 national and international awards, including the State Award for Excellence in arts (2020) and the Grand Prize of the Alexandria Biennial (2003).
