Born in 1964 in Souk-Ahras, Algeria, Mourad Messoubeur cultivates a hybrid body of work, placing the transformation and inscription of matter at its very core. His artistic practice intertwines gesture and visual reflection to delve into the essence of life. Fascinated by organic forms, growth processes, and the instability of materials, he creates alternative languages that challenge traditional representation, shaping a discourse on vitality, mutation, and the boundaries between the natural and the human. A distinguished winner of the Étoile du Sud de Marignane Prize, he has showcased his work in prestigious venues including the National Museum of Fine Arts in Algiers, the Museum Digne-les-Bains, the Cultural Center of Palermo in Italy, and La Friche la Belle de Mai in Marseille. His works are featured in several public and municipal collections.
