Born in 1967 in Guelma, Algeria, Nasreddine Bennacer, through a multifaceted practice encompassing sculpture, painting on Plexiglas, installations, and works on paper, explores themes of culture, civilization, and identity. His early works, marked by both sensitivity and irony, critique the mechanisms of domination and the absurd rationality of the contemporary world. Over time, his approach has evolved into a more refined and poetic expression. His recent pieces on Japanese paper, oscillating between abstraction and figuration, emerge from a dialogue between gesture and material, leaving space for the unexpected. These works move away from demonstration, awakening memories and impressions. His art has been exhibited at the Palais de Tokyo in Paris, the National Museum of History and Art in Luxembourg, and major international fairs in Dubai, Miami, Moscow, London, Istanbul, and Paris.
