About

Noureddine Belhachemi is an Algerian painter and lecturer-researcher. A former professor at the School of Fine Arts and associate researcher at the CRASC in Oran, his practice is rooted in a reflection on visual memory and the artistic heritage of contemporary Algeria. Bordering on abstraction, his painting explores trace, matter, and colour as languages of memory. Fascinated by the invisible forces that animate the universe, from the infinitely small to the infinitely large, he seeks to reveal, in the vibration of the surface, harmony between gesture and the energy of the world. Both lyrical and meditative, his work questions the persistence of signs and the transformation of forms over time. He has exhibited in Algeria, France, Germany, Japan, and Egypt, and his works are held in public and private collections.
