About

Born in 1958 in Sedrata, Algeria, Yazid Oulab is a visual artist whose work explores the intersections of memory, spirituality, and materiality. Across drawing, sculpture, installation, and video, his practice weaves artisanal techniques with Mediterranean traditions and archetypal forms. His work centers on the exploration of transmission, creating a dialogue between past and present that links diverse cultures and narratives. Oulab’s art has been exhibited in the prestigious Centre Pompidou and the Musée National d’Art Moderne in Paris, as well as the Musée des Abattoirs in Toulouse and the Musée Archéologique d’Istres. His work has been shown at the National Museum of Contemporary Art in Lisbon, MUDAM Luxembourg, FRAC Lorraine in Metz, and Haus der Kunst in Munich, and has featured in major international biennials, including the Busan Biennale, as well as other significant group exhibitions.
