Bahar Behbahani is an Iranian-American artist born in Tehran in 1973, currently living and working in Brooklyn, New York. Her work is grounded in visual and historical research, focusing on Persian gardens and water as metaphors for identity, memory, and migration. Through painting, video, and installation, she explores the complex relationships between people, place, nature, and politics. Behbahani has participated in major international exhibitions, including Sharjah Biennial 15 and Wave Hill, New York, and has shown her work in prominent museums and galleries across the United States, Europe, and the Middle East. Her artistic practice bridges East and West, combining poetic sensitivity with critical inquiry, establishing her as one of the distinctive voices in contemporary art today.
