Rima Salamoun is a renowned Syrian fine artist, born in Damascus in 1963, and a graduate of the Faculty of Fine Arts at Damascus University (1987). A member of the Syrian Plastic Artists Union, Salamoun is known for her figurative-expressionist works that explore the human body and psyche. Her art balances raw emotion with fine linework, crafting a deeply human visual language that defies erasure and celebrates survival. She has held numerous solo and group exhibitions across Syria, France, Germany, Qatar, Jordan, Lebanon, Egypt, the UAE, and the USA. Her works are held in prominent collections, including the Museum of Modern Art in Damascus and the Waqif Museum in Doha. Salamoun has also published two art books: Rima Salamoun (2009) and Faces (2016), marking her contribution to contemporary Arab art.
