Born in 1967 in Egypt, Sami Abou Elazm studied at the Faculty of Art Education and obtained his doctorate in 2008. He began his artistic career by participating in youth salons and national exhibitions until he became a well-known artist in the art scene. His works are characterized by a distinct realistic style, especially in the art of portraiture, which embodies topics with a philosophical dimension. His art includes personification, still life, and landscapes in an unconventional style that focuses on the presence of things while respecting the meanings behind the unconventional appearance. One of the prevailing themes in his paintings is his depiction of humans with realism that expresses isolation and alienation through the contradiction and disintegration of elements or the use of suggestive symbols. He has participated in many local and international exhibitions.
