Born in 1982 in Zhejiang, China, Zhang Zuo is a member of the China Artists Association and the Zhejiang Artists Association. He earned his bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral degrees from the Oil Painting Department of the China Academy of Art, where he now teaches. His practice focuses on visual psychology, painting, and art education. Zhang has exhibited widely, including at the 5th Beijing International Art Biennale, and received several honors such as the Nomination Award at the 12th National Art Exhibition, the Excellence Award at the 4th National Youth Art Exhibition, and the Art Award at the 1st China Youth 100 Artists Oil Painting Exhibition. His work has also appeared in My Land, My People: Humanistic Jiangnan and the 12th, 13th, and 15th Zhejiang Provincial Art Exhibitions.
