Born in Doha, Qatar, in 1984, Ahmed Kassim lives and works in Cairo, Egypt. He graduated in 2007 from the faculty of fine arts at Helwan University in Cairo. Since moving to Egypt in 2002, he has participated in various exhibitions in the country and abroad. His work was annually featured in the 18th–23rd youth salons (2007–2012) at the palace of arts, opera house in Cairo, where he won the Grand Prize for painting during the latter three years. In 2011, Kassim held his first solo exhibition at Safar Khan Art Gallery, Cairo, where he continues to hold yearly solo exhibitions. He started showing with gallery ward Dubai in 2013, and his work has since been presented at al Markhiya Gallery, Qatar; Abu Dhabi Art; Beirut Art Fair; Singapore Art Fair; and Art Bahrain.
