An Algerian artist born in 1967 in Bordj Bou Arréridj, Mustapha Boucenna creates works where memory, emotion, and color intersect. His art blends figuration and abstraction, presenting elegant female figures, organic forms, and a luminous palette dominated by greens, blues, and emerald tones. His dynamic compositions, rich in lines and layers, convey an emotional intensity where childhood memories, inner experiences, and a gaze upon the homeland converge. Through his paintings, he explores themes of time, memory, desire, and solitude, avoiding the direct representation of suffering in favor of a dramatic and symbolic atmosphere. Trained at the Algiers Higher School of Fine Arts but largely self-taught. His work reflects a dialogue between cultures, traditions, and modernity.
