Born in 1994 in Douala, Lauriane Yougang is a visual artist whose practice blends drawing, painting, and ceramics. Passionate about manga and expressive storytelling, she studied at the Institut de Mbalmayo, earning a bachelor’s degree in ceramics in 2015, before continuing her studies in visual arts at the University of Yaoundé 1. Between 2015 and 2023, she held four solo exhibitions—Extraire de Matière (2015), Altérabilité (2021), Horizon Intérieur (2022), and Pris au Piège (2023)—at Abali Gallery. Her work delves into femininity, tolerance, and hidden emotions, often inspired by her own photographs, surroundings, and travels. Combining acrylic paint, beads, and ceramics, she creates textured, poetic compositions.
