About

Olga Yaméogo, a self-taught artist born in 1966 in Ouagadougou and based in Toulouse since 1982, draws inspiration from her Franco-Burkinabé roots, guided by a deep quest for identity and freedom. Initially engaged in art therapy, she later devoted herself fully to painting, where themes of displacement, memory, and human connection intertwine. The 2020 pandemic marked an introspective turning point, revealing the melancholy and sense of exile tied to her departure from Burkina Faso. Her work, rich in symbolism, restores humanity to the figures of migration and questions the perception of otherness. By transforming stories of exile into universal narratives, Olga Yaméogo turns art into a space of resilience, transmission, and dialogue between cultures.
