Serdar Yılmaz, born in İzmit in 1973, holds an MA and PhD from Marmara University, Faculty of Fine Arts, Department of Painting in Istanbul. His experimental films and video installations have been exhibited in international galleries, museums, and festivals, including the Rio Contemporary Art Museum in Brazil. He has worked as a production designer and art director on award-winning films such as Shadowless (2009) and Waiting for Heaven (2007). His short films The Puddle (2015) and Fried Chicken (2013) were screened at major festivals including Cannes, Rotterdam, Brooklyn, and Oaxaca, earning awards like Best Experimental Film and Best Surreal Film. His feature project 3+1 Apartment for Salewas selected for the Sarajevo Film Festival’s Cinelink platform. He currently teaches at Balıkesir University.
