Founded in 2006 in Misrata, Libya—one of the country’s most vibrant cultural cities, 200 km east of Tripoli—Al-Saqeefa Gallery has played a pioneering role in redefining contemporary aesthetics and promoting cultural investment. The gallery has fostered local and international exchange through collaborations with European cultural institutes and was commended by the EU Cultural Committee (2012–2013) for its contribution to post-2011 cultural coexistence in Libya. Established by writer and visual artist Mohamed Ben Lamin, Al-Saqeefa continues to champion enlightenment, peaceful coexistence, and the pursuit of beauty and knowledge through art, remaining a haven of light and vision dedicated to nurturing civic awareness and artistic dialogue.
